About the Program
There are tried and true methods that you can use to become
an effective instructor. The APICS
Train the Trainer Workshop is an intensive, hands-on program
that will show you how to:
• Write instructional objectives that clearly show
what your learners will be able to do as a result of your
instruction
• Plan lessons with realistic objectives
• Build involvement and motivation into your lessons
• Construct lesson plans as a step-by-step blueprint
for achieving your objectives
• Effectively select and use a variety of media to enhance
learning
• Improve the effectiveness of your communication by
being receptive to verbal and nonverbal messages of your learners
• Practice and critique of teaching methods and techniques
• Plan training workshops for flawless implementation
About the Instructors
Sibyl
Melin, CPIM, CIRM, CSCP is president and founder
of Sundial Consulting Group, Carlsbad, California.
With more than 25 years of experience in operations management,
her background and multiple industry experiences provide an
excellent foundation. This consultant, educator, and speaker
wins high praise from her corporate clients and students.
Known for her passionate expressions for maintaining manufacturing
excellence in North America, Sibyl brings facts, common sense,
and humor to her audiences.
As an APICS instructor with over 12 years in front of students,
her decades of operations, materials, cost accounting, and
warehouse expertise means she has honed her presentations
to match her audiences - whatever their part of the organization.
As a corporate executive, Sibyl encountered many of the problems
still facing organizations today and provides a wealth of
lessons learned to her consulting clients and students. As
a consultant and educator, she constantly searches for solutions
to these challenges.
Harvey
McChesney, III, CPIM is president of McChesney Associates.
Harvey’s purpose is to help you vividly express your
thoughts, feelings, and needs through effective communication.
He has extensive experience teaching presentation skills,
training methods, team competencies, facilitation skills,
and structured problem solving. Harvey uses a natural and
energetic style to create an interactive learning environment.
Harvey has 20 years experience in manufacturing engineering,
process analysis, facilities design, systems definition and
installation, project management, and productivity improvement.
He received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University,
has served on the APICS Board of Directors and was the Chairman
of the 1994 APICS International Conference and Exhibition.
Harvey also led the team that revised the APICS Train the
Trainer materials and developed the Learning Dynamics for
Instructors course. He is a Qualified instructor for both
of these courses as well as a frequent speaker at APICS events.
Who should attend?
This workshop is open to certified APICS members interested
in become an APICS Certification Review Course Instructor,
either for the chapter or their own company. In order to teach
a certification review course for the Chapter, the instructor
must be certified in the program being taught, have passed
the certification test and attended the Train the Trainer
program. The chapter will accept attendees who are currently
certified or are working on their certification.

Workshop Fees:
The workshop is free to all attendees approved to the workshop
by the APICS Phoenix Chapter. However a credit card must be
provided as a $100 course fee will be imposed for all no-shows
and cancellations after the registration deadline. You must
complete the full attendance requirements (all 3 days) or
the $100 course fee will be imposed.

of Education for a registration request. Make note of
registration deadlines! If paying with a credit card, payment
is considered received when submitting a registration form
if a valid card number and expiration date are provided (card
must not be declined when processed). Please note
the change for this workshop only: Your credit
card will not be charged if you meet the workshop attendance
requirements.
If you register on-line (when availabe), you will receive
a confirmation page that you have submitted a registration
request. This does not guarantee that you have been accepted
for the workshop. Please print this for your records. You
will be contacted by the VP of Education to confirm your registration
acceptance (be sure to include a valid email address.)
