Julio Cruz is currently, Manager of Operations and Logistics, at Valassis Direct Mail, Phoenix, AZ. Julio joined Valassis Direct Mail as a shift manager at the Los Angeles plant in 2005. Since then, he has held several key leadership positions in production and operations management. In September 2007, he transferred to the Phoenix Team where, he has led the transformation of the Phoenix Team in reducing operational costs, improving safety, and manufacturing efficiencies while increasing revenues.

Prior to joining Valassis Direct Mail, Julio held leadership roles in engineering, project management, manufacturing, operations, domestic and international sales, and customer service management for packaging and material handling equipment suppliers. Most recently, he managed the California manufacturing operations for Deflecto Corporation. His areas of interest are organizational leadership, operations management, and process improvement.

Julio holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, and is currently pursuing APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) in addition to an MBA degree. He has served as an director of several community organizations including; Delta Phi Theta Association, Boys Scouts of America, Florissant Youth Athletic Organization, and the Florissant-Ferguson Community Choir. He is an active member of the Institute of Supply Managers (ISM), National Association of Purchasing Managers - Arizona (NAPM-Arizona), and the American Society of Quality (ASQ).
