Joyce Lewis has more than 21 years of experience in various aspects of the high technology industry, and more than 11 years of experience in the art and science of education. Her leadership experience spans the global business value chain from strategy development, new product introduction, marketing, and operations, and all aspects of Supply Chain Management. Much of her career experience includes leading program implementations for mega-growth manufacturers in high-tech industries, specifically focused in both process development and employee education programs. Through this, she has developed approaches to apply formal and rigorous methods such as Project Management, Six Sigma, and Lean.

Joyce recently managed Fixed Assets for the Higley Unified School District, in addition to providing Instructional Technology support and training at local Valley educational institutions. Prior to this, Joyce was responsible for implementing worldwide SAP Production & Planning (PP) and Materials Management (MM) systems and training for Innovex, Inc., in her role as SAP Business Analyst. In her role as Material Control Manager for Three-Five Systems, Inc., she was responsible for establishing materials management strategies to support business and production plans for a growing $85M opto-electronic display manufacturer. With 15 years supply chain management experience in the opto-electronics, semiconductor, and flex-circuit industries, Joyce combines knowledge of learning processes/pedagogy with real-world operations management experience to maximize the learning process for supply chain professionals.

Joyce is an active member on the APICS Phoenix Chapter Board as well as a Chapter CPIM Certification Review Course Instructor; she is designated as an APICS Master CPIM Instructor, Master Instructor Training Instructor, Associate Global Sourcing Instructor, and Associate Lean Enterprise Instructor. She currently holds both APICS CPIM and ISM Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certifications, in addition to Arizona Teacher certification and provisional Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement for grades K-8. She represents the Chapter at local educational institutions such as Arizona State University and provides students with guidance on career paths related to resource management, and is a Board Director for the Higley Education Foundation.

Joyce was a Phoenix Chapter President (99-00) and led the Chapter's management team to achieve the Chapter's first Citation of Excellence award from the APICS Association. She is primarily responsible for the updated APICS Phoenix Chapter website and serves as the Chapter's Administrative Support function, and recently served on the APICS Southwest District Staff as the appointed Director of Education. Joyce is on the national APICS Instructor Development Program (IDP) subcommittee, leading the Learning Dynamics instructional series and Instructor Professional Development Maintenance programs. In 2011, she was accepted as a committee member for the APICS Chapter Minimum Standards / Chapter Benchmarking & Reporting (CMS/C-BAR) subcommittee.

Joyce has a Bachelor's of Science, Magna Cum Laude in Purchasing and Logistics from Arizona State University, and received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award for both the Supply Chain Management Department and for the College of Business (now W.P. Carey School of Business), 1998. She also holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, 2004. Joyce was nominated by students and selected for inclusion in the “Who’s Who Among American Teachers, 2007”. Based on evaluations and attendee feedback, Joyce was selected as the APICS Phoenix Chapter "Instructor of the Year" for 2010-2011 and 2007-2008 board years.
