Volunteer Opportunities

Board of Directors participation provides insight to chapter operations and networking opportunities. Volunteers gain points toward re-certification and receive discounts to chapter events. Submit a Volunteer Form online for volunteer opportunities.

 

Immediate opening:

The chapter is focusing on creating a direct mailer program to inform local manufacturing organizations about our dinner meeting, training, and certification programs. We are targeting local manufacturers with greater than 20 employees. We could use volunteers for the program to assist us in identifying our target opportunities and creating our mailing format. Anyone with experience with these types of programs, please Ryan Perrin via email president@apicsphoenix.org.

Seeking Company Coordinators: Attends annual company coordinator meeting. Provides focal contact point for company (must be employed by the company) and serves as a liaison between company and chapter. Disseminates chapter information and materials to employees.

Programs    1 Director, Speaker Bookings Locate and book speakers or tours 4 months in advance. Arrange for speaker gift. Expected hours per month: 6
3 Director, PDM Registration Arrive at monthly PDM by 5:00 . Setup registration table. Greet guests. Take payment by cash or credit card. Give raffle ticket. Give ticket for meal choice. Update attendance records. Reconcile funds collected with attendance. Assist in packing up materials for the next PDM. Expected hours per month: 3
1 Director, PDM Photographer Arrive at monthly PDM by 5:15 . Take pictures of people in groups and the speaker. Talk with people to look for opportunities to give recognition (new member, visiting from another chapter, new CPIM, student members, etc.). Record names and company names for the pictures. Take a few key notes from the presentation. Write a short article for the newsletter including picture captions no later than the 15th of the month. Expected hours per month: 4
1 Director, Hotel Booking Agent
Book hotel and arrange for meals. Coordinate posting of correct hotel and meal information for on-line registration process. Expected hours per month: 1
Education   1 Director, Class Administration
Administrate instructor evaluations and report. Create and mail class completion certificates. Provide account numbers for education invoices to be paid by Chapter. Review the website for education program offerings and provide updates to our administrative service. Expected hours per month: 4
3 Director, General Instruction of APICS courses. Requires Director to meet chapter instructor standards. Expected hours per month: Varies
0 Director, Education Materials Order and deliver materials to the instructor and class. Pick-up the student evaluations and the instructor materials the last night of class. Expected hours per month: 4
1 Director, Class Scheduling Schedule the classroom and the instructor. Expected hours per month: 2
Marketing    0 Director, Staff Liaison & Communication
Serves as the Marketing Liaison to the Education, Membership, and Programs committees to ensure the adequate marketing of their programs. Also, ensures the website and newsletter are accurate and current. Expected hours per month: 4
0 Director, Webmaster
Coordinate website activities. Post updates to website. Expected hours per month: 15
1 Director, Target Markets Identify industry or company targets for promotion of APICS. Develop and execute campaigns and measure results. Expected hours per month: 4
1 Director, Liaison to Other Professional Societies
Stays in contact with other professional societies to look for cross-marketing or co-program opportunities. Some of these are IMA, Institute for Supply Management (formerly NAPM), GPEC, MEP, Arizona Technology Council. Expected hours per month: 3
Membership    1 Director, Recruiting Coordinates updates to chapter membership information. Calls members to receive new contact information for incorrect or missing emails or addresses (such as returned mailings). Expected hours per month: 5
1 Director, Student Chapter Liaison Act as a liaison between local school or university and local chapter. Attend PDM’s and encourage students to attend. Provide information regarding student membership. Expected hours per month: 3
1 Director, Company Coordinators Organizes Chapter's company coordinate program. Holds annual meeting. Identifies company coordinators in local companies and disseminates information to them for distribution. Maintains company coordinator listing and documentation to support chapter's Passport program. Expected hours per month: 3
45 Company Coordinator Attends annual company coordinator meeting. Provides focal contact point for company (must be employed by the company) and serves as a liaison between company and chapter. Disseminates chapter information and materials to employees. Expected hours per month: 1-2
